STONE FRUIT

Within the stone fruit group we classify: cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, flat peaches, flat nectarines and plums.

All are characterized by having a central stone, by being very sweet due to a high brix grade and being climacteric, i.e. they continue ripening after harvest, which means it is very important to closely control the cold chain.

The main production areas are in Andalucia, Murcia, Badajoz, Aragon and Lérida.

In May we begin with production from our farmers in Murcia then the second week of June we begin with Lérida, where we finish in October.

At Daifressh we decide on harvesting according to the internal parameters of the product, bearing in mind the hardness and the brix grade throughout the whole process, so that our products reach our clients in the tastiest conditions.

BERRIES

Our supply of red fruit consists of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries.

From January to May their production comes from Huelva, the most important producing area of this group of fruits in Spain.

In the sunny, sandy marsh area of Huelva and close to the natural park of Doñana, the berries grow in unbeatable soil and climate conditions.

The berries have a high vitamin content, especially C and E and are also very rich in antioxidants. They are rich in healing properties and are very beneficial to the body.

At Daifressh we select the best red fruit varieties that fulfil all the necessary internal and external quality requisites which satisfy the needs of our consumers.

We select varieties that guarantee a balance between acidity and sweetness, a sweet and deep aroma, a good appearance, intense and brilliant red colour and at the same time are resistant with a durability that guarantees the ability to travel to our markets and reach the consumer in the best possible conditions for consumption.

MELONS AND WATERMELONS

Within this fruit group we sell the following varieties:

Melons: Honeydew, Galia, Cantaloupe and Piel de Sapo.

Watermelons: with seeds or seedless, mini, striped and black.

Our earliest melons and watermelons begin in April and May, from the cultivation areas of Almeria. In June, July and August our melons and watermelons are grown in sunny Murcia.

Nutritionally watermelon is the fruit which contains the most water, around 93%. This makes it a very refreshing fruit with an extremely low calorific value, truly excellent in hot weather!

The melon is a great source of vitamins, with a large amount of sugar which gives it a very sweet taste.

PERSIMMONS AND POMEGRANATES

The Daifressh persimmons come from our farmers in the Valencian community. In particular the variety brilliant red which is the one we cultivate. It is a large calibre persimmon, oblong in shape, orange in colour and seedless.

Once collected and the astringency naturally eliminated (method of elimination of tannins that give roughness to the fruit) its flesh is firm and crunchy, sweet and aromatic, delicious flavour and very easy to eat, even with skin.

Our pomegranates come from the Elche region of Alicante and varieties include Molar and Valencian.
